If Turkish team had a goalkeeper They would be champion
The semi-final game between Turkey and Germany showed that the Turkish national team, with a strong goalkeeper and a good stopper, is a very strong candidate for the 2010 championship
Turkey has been proud of its national team, with the exciting performances they displayed in each match played. Fatih Terim and his players have brought the team with the least odds all the way to the championship's semi-finals. This unexpected success is now being interpreted as being more important than having come in third in the world championship. Now, all over Turkey, people are saying; "The Turkish national team would have qualified for the finals if Rüştü had not missed that final goal by Germany." If the team's first goalkeeper, Volkan Demirel, had not received a red card in the game against the Czech Republic, and furthermore, if he had gone straight to the dressing room, he would not have been suspended for two matches.
